Since autumn is my very favorite season and I had just received two yarns from Sincere Sheep’s
Made Here fiber club, I designed this very subtle colorwork cowl. I call it the Palimpsest Cowl
because the leaf, acorn and pinecone motifs appear as traces of their original selves. The two
colors here are called Fraternal Twins and although they were special for the fiber club, you
could get the same results with a solid and a similar tone of a variegated yarn. Or you can
discard the palimpsest idea and go with contrasting colors so the motifs pop. Either way, it’s a
warm and fun project that will come together fast and give you something to wear to celebrate
the season.
