Flowing from a top down cast-on the Palouse Falls Shawl has double increases on the righthand side of every right side row to create a curl shawl in a deep golden yellow. The twisted single knit stitch and textured lace Adventure Cables create a single twisted knit stitch moving across a lacey background.

Curl shawls are one of my favorite shapes, I think they are easy to wear and fit nicely on a variety of body shapes and sizes. For this stitch pattern I became really interested in how to move a single twisted stitch across the work and the difference in look when moved across lace stitches or moved across purl stitches. With the single twisted stitch columns, added smocked stitches and stacked rows of eyelets I feel like the resulting pattern is reminiscent of waving wild grasses, gently leaning in the draft from the rumbling spray of the waterfall.

Pattern Notes
This shawl is worked by casting on a narrow section of stockinette stitch and working for the width of the vertical lace panel. Stitches are picked up from this section for the lace panel and the shawl is worked from the top down with double yarnover increases at the beginning of every RS row to create the curl shape. The border pattern is worked evenly over all stitches.
