The name is lighthearted, but the finished project is detailed and looks surprisingly elegant.

Paper Towel Cowl pairs simple stitch patterns with a crisp garter stitch border to keep it in shape. It requires about 1 skein of soft, lightweight yarn, and 13 5/8” buttons.

The stitch patterns seem, in my experience, to work better with a solid/softly tonal yarn rather than a variegated/strong tonal dyeway. The sample is in Malabrigo Sock in Ochre.

Materials:
About 330 yards or one skein of Malabrigo Yarns Sock (shown in Ochre)
1 48” circular needle US5/3.75mm, or size needed for gauge.
4 removable stitch markers
13 (thirteen) 5/8” buttons
Optional: One crochet hook, in size suited to yarn
Optional: Waste yarn, in size suited to working yarn
Tapestry needle
If needed, a sewing needle for buttons.

Gauge:
Gauge is 22 sts and 32 rows over 4”/10cm in moss stitch/textured pattern, worked flat and blocked. Please be sure to check your gauge
