Notes:
(This pattern was formerly posted on the Peaches & Creme website, but was removed after a year or two. It has also been published in the Crochet “CPAD” 2011 Calendar. In addition, I posted this originally to Crochetville, but removed it when I gave Elmore-Pisgah permission to share it, and have not reposted it since the day I took it down. Seeing as there are people still interested, I’ve decided, as a new ravelry-er, to repost it here.)

This pattern is intended to be loose and lacy.
If using size 10 thread, pattern worked with 2 strands held together throughout.
Skirt is worked from the hem up toward the waist.
Skirt length will stretch slightly after completed. One way to deal with this is to hang the skirt between crochet sessions.
Using cotton thread will result in a heavier weight skirt, the Petalspun rayon will have a lighter result.
I have made this in XXL for a friend, using the changes noted below. It still uses less than 2 full cones of Petalspun. Maxi lengths of this skirt will require more than one cone, however.

Gauge: Try to come close to this gauge. However, minor differences will not significantly affect the end result. It will however, affect your yardage.
Pineapple in pattern: ~3.5 inches from base “V” to top point where shells meet (above open space at top of pineapple.
~2” wide at widest point, not including shells.

Special Stitches:
Beg shell: (ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in st indicated
Shell: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in st/sp indicated

Customizing:

  1. Skirt is “petite-able”: If you are shorter (approx 5’ tall) work one or two fewer round of pineapples before the first decrease
  2. If you are taller (5’10” or more) you may want to add a round of pineapple repeats before the first decrease.
  3. If you prefer a shorter skirt, work one or two fewer rounds of pineapple repeats before the first decrease.
  4. For Larger size, skip first decrease, work one extra round of pineapples before working your decrease section. Then follow directions after last decrease to end.
