A great project for a beginner knitter, with dramatic results. A giant chain link cable in super bulky weight wool is worked into an easy tube shape. Once you’ve mastered the stitch try the matching beanie hat ‘ Goose’.

Knitting ability: Beginner

Skills Required: You will need to be able to work a simple rib and cable pattern.
This pattern is written for both straight and circular knitting.

You will need:
One pair 10mm (US 15) straight needles or circular needles
Tapestry needle for sewing up (optional)
Yarn approx. 160m/174yards super chunky weight

Materials:
I used 100% Merino Wool from Rowan called ‘Big wool’ in super chunky weight yarn in colour Prize 064, 2 x 100g balls (80m/87y per 100g)
For an alternative try Cascade’s ‘Lana Grande’ – 100% Peruvian Wool, 100g = 80m/87yrds

Note if you intend to substitute this yarn make sure you have checked the meterage per ball to get the correct amount.

ONE SIZE: Unisex
