Parting Skies is a triangle shawl inspired by the negative space between the clouds in a foggy night sky.

Garter stitch ‘clouds’ travel across a stockinette ‘sky’ to create the detail for this piece that can be knit in any size from a large kerchief to a full size shawl.

Gauge is not very important for this project. Aim for a good draped fabric but make sure the stitches are not too loose. Usually go up 2 needle sizes from that recommended on the band.

This pattern would be great for showcasing those beautiful variegated sock yarns from your stash (for the stockinette background). Just pair it with something more neutral for the contrasting parts.

Picot bindoff could be swapped out for a plain edging for a more unisex look.
