This hat uses a three needle bind off to create a star shaped crown of the hat. It makes for a nice slouchy fit. There is a lace chart as well as written instructions. The ribbing is very stretchy and will fit head circumference of 19-22 inches. You will need one US size 6/4.0mm 16’’/40cm circular needle and at least two US size 6/4.0mm double pointed needles.
