This is a condensed version of the pattern designed for experienced knitters and offered for free. You can find the full pattern at knitcraftandknittery.com that includes helpful hints, links to video tutorials, charts (where applicable), photo tutorials of stitches (where applicable), and detailed descriptions of abbreviations.

Free beanie patterns do not include instructions for crown decreases. You will need to purchase the full version if you want my exact decreases or you can take this opportunity to do a little designing of your own and come up with your own decrease method.

If you have been looking to try some colourwork/fair isle knitting but have been wary of taking on anything too complicated, then this beanie is for you! There is simple and minimal colourwork that makes for an interesting beanie that is surprisingly simple to knit.

This pattern calls for 4 different colours to make a beanie with one striped section and two colourwork sections. This pattern is great for using up some of your yarn stash as colours B, C, and D require very minimal meterage (~20g). The pattern can easily be adapted to suit whatever extras you have lying around!
