Like many things in life, the path of progress is never in a straight line, and neither is this stitch motif. But it’s a simple zig zag that allows the trip to be fun.

Created by combining elongated stitches with cables, the elongated stitches and ribbing provides for a little extra stretch in the sock to compensate for the cables.

Instructions include a Contrasting Heel to not interrupt the striping pattern of the yarn, but also included is a Regular Heel, if you are not worried about such things. Time for some progress.

Yarn used for sample sock: Who’s Shirt Regenerated, our nod to the stripes on the shirt worn by Jodi Whittaker’s portrayal of The Doctor.
