Pauza is an infinity shawl that is easy to knit and looks great in both solid and ombre yarn.

Pauza is a slightly irregular triangle started at one corner, the pattern is repetitive. Vertical eyelet lines attract attention while chevron elements serve as background. If the shawl is knit in two colours or in ombre yarn, they form an additional effect of meandering lines.

The shawl is reversible, the main pattern is created on the RS whilst the WS is a combination of knit and purl stitches plus every ten rows there is a special stitch creating a large eyelet.

The size depends on the number of repeats of the pattern. You can also customize the shawl by using different yarns and needle sizes. The pattern uses basic lace stitches – increasing, decreasing and yarnovers. The challenge is the large eyelet stitch which is explained in the photo tutorial at the end of the pattern.

The shawl is fun to knit, intuitive and yet complicated enough to give you a feeling of achievement. If you choose a gradient yarn you will get additional pleasure from watching the colours change.

Yarn – any ranging from light fingering to sport or even DK, natural / blockable fibers.

My orange shawl is done in one skein of Malabrigo Mechita (100g = 420 yards / 385m, Dried Orange) and it measures 54” x 21 ½” / 132 x 54cm.
The yellow striped shawl is done in 4 skeins of Drops Safran (50g = 175 yards / 160m), two skeins of #66 mustard and two skeins of #67 pumpkin, and it measures 64” x 29” / 162 x 73cm.

Needles - any size according to the yarn you use.

Gauge is not crucial and depends on the yarn and needles you choose to knit with.

Supplies - stitch markers, tapestry needle to weave in yarn ends, pins.

Construction – Pauza is started at one tip with just three stitches, increases are done on the wingspan edge.

The instructions are both written and charted.

Pauza to chusta dwustronna, którą można dziergać w nieskończoność – do osiągnięcia potrzebnego rozmiaru lub do wyrobienia wszystkiej włóczki.

Chustę dzierga się w miarę łatwo, wzór wyrabia się na prawej stronie, lewa jest kombinacją oczek prawych i lewych plus pojawia się tam wyzwanie - nowy sposób przerabiania dwóch oczek razem (co 10 rzędów).

Pauza ma kształt lekko nieregularnego trójkąta, w którym jedna z przyprostokątnych wychodzi nieco dłuższa od drugiej. Wzdłuż niej biegną pasy ażurowe, natomiast części gładkie tworzą zygzaki, co fajnie wygląda przy paskach lub w wersji ombre.

Rozmiar zależy od ilości powtórzeń wzoru oraz od grubości włóczki.

Włóczka – dość cienka na chustę lekką i zwiewną, grubsza na ciepłą i zimową, naturalne włókna gdyż chusta wygląda lepiej po blokowaniu.
Pomarańczowa Pauza jest zrobiona z 1 motka Malabrigo Mechita (100g = 385m, kolor Dried Orange) i ma wymiary 132 x 54cm.
Na żółtą Pauzę poszły 4 motki bawełny Safran od Dropsa, dwa nr 66 (musztarda) i dwa nr 67 (dynia), chusta mierzy 162 x 73cm.

Druty – dobrane do włóczki, chusty nie należy dziergać zbyt luźno.

Dodatkowo potrzebne – markery (jeśli ich używasz), igła do wciągnięcia nitek, druty lub szpilki do blokowania.
