LATVIAN BRAIDING is an interesting knitting technique that has been used here to great effect. Caroline Birkett’s cushion cover mixes braids with reverse Fair Isle in six different shades of Cascade 220 Superwash. “Working single rows takes a little more time, but creates delicate stripes that mix the colours beautifully together,” says Caroline. “Latvian braids and the strands from the reverse side of Fair Isle give the cushion a lovely textural quality.”
