“Mischief Managed!”

The inspiration for these socks comes from the amazing Harry Potter series. I grew up reading those books, and they still hold a place in my heart as an adult. This pattern is the third in a collection I am designing: The Charmingly Magic Sock Collection. The collection will be made up of 7 different sock designs, one inspired by each of the seven Harry Potter books.

The inspiration for the Paw Prints & Parchment Socks is from the third book, The Prisoner of Azkaban. With the wonder a simple piece of parchment brings, along with everyone’s favourite four-legged pup being introduced in this book, I just had to use them as inspiration for this design.

With winding lace panels remind me of the footprints on the Marauder’s Map, and the texture pattern reminds me of the walls of Hogwarts, where everyone is trying to protect Harry from the (not so evil) Sirius Black.

Like the others in this collection these socks are an easy and intuitive knit, that simply flies off your needles. Make sure to share your ‘Siriusly’ awesome socks on Instagram with the hashtag #PawprintsandParchmentSocks so I can see your beautiful knits!
