Jacob is a poodle/yorkie mix who moved to Boston after growing up in California. For his first winter, his owner was concerned that he would have trouble in the cold. Therefore, I designed “Paw Socks” (aka Dog Slippers, Puppy Socks, Dog Booties or whatever you would like to call them) because I had found so few when I performed a pattern search.

The pattern is named with the Pawtucket Paw Sox, the AAA team associated with the Red Sox. (You can often see big name Red Sox players there when they’re coming off of an injury.)

Notions:
Yarn or a piece of ribbon for a closure. Yarn needle to weave in loose ends.

For the Sizing
All dog’s feet have different sized paws. I recommend making a tracing of your dog’s paw before you start knitting and then either increase your stitches or match your gauge to that.
