This pattern is in limited release at present, available to people who purchased the Peacock Feathers colorway. The pattern will be available for purchase by the general public Spring 2019.

The Peacock Feathers colorway was a limited time special event colorway created using a unique fiber painting techniques developed by the fine artists of Lucky Violet Color Co. The artistic vision was to create a colorway that would be, in the hands of a knitter, the beginnings of her or his own fine art painting in fiber.

We created the painting first on the yarn, then as you knit with the colors you will be creating the “canvas” that will reveal the painting. It will be an abstract painting meant to evoke the visual beauty of the open tail of a peacock.

Together, we the hand dyers and you the knitter, are an artistic team working together on increasingly beautiful works of art using fiber dyes as our medium, knitting needles and crochet hooks as our tools, and fiber as our support base.

We are hoping that you see this as an artistic team effort as well and that you feel, when you are knitting with our “gourmet”, hand-dyed and painted yarn you are embarking on a special journey each time as a fine fiber artist.

We sincerely endeavor to create our colors with your finished works of art in mind, doing all we can to help you as a fiber artist create the most beautiful pieces you can.

The Peacock Colorway and the shawl designed to show it off best has been created with all of this in mind.
