A nine pointed shawl with long tails that is fun to wear, intriguing and intuitive to knit.

Difficulty: intermediate

Special Skills: chart reading is an asset, or the ability to read one’s knitting. Since the shawl follows a predictable pattern of progression, the “formula” has been written out, in lieu of translating the charts line by line. A chart of row and stitch counts is also provided for convenience.

Yarn: The shawl is shown in Impulse of Delight’s fingering weight sampler pack (60 yds each of Summit Sock, Mere Sock, Blissful Sock, Merino/silk, Bluefaced Bliss, and Merino fingering.) NOTE: A code to download the pattern for free may be obtained by purchasing a sampler pack - the pattern is also available to purchase on its own. A 100 gm skein of any fingering weight wool will also do nicely - the strong graphic element makes this design a particularly good choice for self-striping or highly variegated yarns. The pattern is designed to be knit until you have just enough yarn remaining to bind off, thus it is easily extended to larger sizes.

Size: the shawl as shown measures approx. 37 cm (15 in) deep and 130 cm (52 in) along the top edge.
