Peaks & Valleys uses DK weight yarn and incorporates a fun set of lace repeats that dip and climb as you work your way up to the crown. This pattern is simple enough for anyone trying lace for the first time, but with plenty of interest for you seasoned knitters.

It can also be worked with fingering weight yarn held double, and for fun you try adding a strand of lace weight kid silk mohair for a beautifully, soft halo.

This is a hat that flies off the needles and is perfect for gifting as it looks great with or without a pom pom topper.

Size: one size fits most average adult size heads 20-22” (50-56 cm)

When knit with DK weight yarn, you’ll need approx. 60 grams or 140 yards. Yarn amounts may change if you opt to use fingering weight held double.

Finished measurements, unblocked and unstretched: ribbing laid flat = 8” (20 cm), body at widest point laid flat = 9.25” (23.5 cm) and height = 9” (23 cm) unblocked and unstretched.

This pattern has been test knit and professionally tech edited.
