Peaks

I am continuously inspired by the challenge of manipulating short rows to achieve certain shapes. This, coupled with a desire for creative color schemes, resulted in the creation of Peaks.

Peaks can be knit to your desired length. The scarf looks great in a variety of solid colors as well as a variegated yarn paired with a contrasting but complimentary solid color.

Size:
8 ½ “ / 21.5cm wide and 64” / 162.5cm long or desired length

Materials
Yarn:
Loopy Ewe Solid Series (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 50 g / 2oz / 220yds per skein), or any fingering weight yarn.

Sample used approximately 45yds / 42m per short row stripe in a variety of contrast colors.
CC1 - Mauve 90 yards
CC2 - Violet 45 yards
CC3 - Orchid 90 yards
CC4- Plum 90 yards
CC5 - Burgundy 90 yards
CC6 - Eggplant, 45 yards
MC - Black 176 yards

Needles:
US 4 (3.50mm) circular 32” / 80cm long

Gauge:
22 sts and 26 rows = 4” (10cm) in garter stitch

Supplies
Tapestry needle, stitch markers, rustproof pins for blocking
Skill Level: Intermediate
Basic knitting skills, garter stitch, simple color changes, picking up stitches, short rows.

Errata:
Section 2 reads to repeat rows 3 and 4 until you have completed an additional 7 garter ridges. The 7 should be a 6. Complete an additional 6 garter ridges.
