Oh, the ups and downs! If there is one constant in life, it’s that it’s rarely constant – but sometimes you can look at all the changes and see how they connect. In that spirit, these fingerless gloves are designed using simple texture and twists to create a valley on one side of the hand, wrapping around into a peak on the other side.

These mitts are a quick knit – great for a gift or treat for yourself. Worked in the round, the pattern comes in two sizes (small/medium and medium/large), and includes charts for each size.

Every year for a while now, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee has done a big fundraising push for an organization called the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation, though their annual bike rally. While I have donated in the past, this year, I was particularly moved by her writing about the ways that AIDS affects women, in particular, those who are refugees from violence of all kinds. Read her post here. I decided that I wanted to do a little extra if I could. Therefore, I will be donating 50% of proceeds from sales of this pattern to People With AIDS Foundation until the end of the Friends 4 Life Bike Rally – August 3, 2018 – in honor of Team Knit. Help me make a big donation!

Aug. 4th: Thanks to you all, and thanks to tech editor Joanna Fromstein, who asked me to donate 1/2 of her fee as well, I was able to send $185 US to PWA (and I threw in the processing fees, too)!
