This is the shell of a cardigan and shell set. Cardigan is here. The shell has pearl beads smocked on the front and thread-only smocking on the back. Cardigan and shell are designed to fit snugly, the shell with 0.5 inch/1cm negative ease.

The set appears on the cover of Needlecraft for Today’s Nov-Dec 1988 issue.

Yardage above is an estimate, as yarn quantity is given for the cardigan and shell set: 14 to 16 two-ounce skeins of Lustersheen, or 2345-2680 yards. Also needed for the set are 1000-1250 3mm pearl beads and five skeins 6-strand embroidery floss in a color that matches the yarn.
