The inspiration for this sock came one fall afternoon when I looked across a friend’s patio and saw how the unraked leaves had amassed along the edge of the lawn and then scattered. I used bobbles to interpret the leaf idea, and when I finished the sock the name “Pebbles” seemed more appropriate. It would be fun to play with the coloring of these pebbles, varying rows of different-colored pebbles, scattering colors across the sock. Here I used a heather-colored yarn for the main sock and a self-striping one for the bobbles. Regardless of how you choose to arrange your colors, this sock demonstrates how you can always rely on Mother Nature for inspiration.
