Welcome back to “Free Pattern Friday”, a fresh new free pattern every week!
Today’s project is shawl #2 in a series of four that will be offered through Free Pattern Friday. Based on the feedback I’ve been getting, knitters love shawls! They’re pretty, useful, easy to fit, and use (relatively) small amounts of yarn. Plus, accessories in outside-the-box colors and patterns are such a welcome and refreshing hit for any wardrobe.

The Peek-A-Boo Bay Shawl is semi-circular and built on the exact same shaping strategy as last week’s Marcelle Wrap. Because Peek-A-Boo Bay is smaller, I felt kind of excited about using a hand-painted yarn in a color way that was a little outside my comfort zone. I’m really glad I did! Peek-A-Boo Bay is fun to knit – the stockinette section is portable, really easy and perfect for car knitting. The lace section is simple to memorize, but looks like you’ve ‘parted the waters’! So, if you’ve been hoarding that one special skein of sock yarn in that intriguing color you just love, this is your chance!
