When you visit Costa Rica, one of the main attractions is sloth watching… but now you can have your own Costa Rican sloth in you home!

TECHNIQUE: Knitting.

STITCHES USED: Stokinete, on the round, M1 increasing, K2tog, ssk, slip stitch, I cord.

MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED:
YARN
• Bulky or aran/worsted in black for eyes and nose, beige or cream and gray held together for face, white for nails. (I used left over aran yarns from other projects, but if you are buying new yarns, 25 m or 50 g are more than enough in each color).
• Fake Fur (I used 1 skein – 110 m of “Luxe” by King Cole in Impala Color) or any bulky yarn to pretend the fur for making the body, arms, legs and head.
NEEDLES
• 6”-8” US 8 / 5mm double point needles (or a set of 9”, 12” and 16” US 8 / 5mm circular needles).
OTHERS
• Scissors, tapestry needle, stitch markers, progress markers, row counter, measuring tape, safety eyes, a good playlist and a comfortable place to knit!

SIZE:
50 cm / 19 ½ in – long from head to claws.
14 cm / 5 ½ in – wide.
57 cm / 22 ½ in – length from hand-claw to hand-claw.

OTHER DETAILS:
• This is an original pattern designed to make stuffed dolls for decoration or soft playing, care instructions are the same as for any other knitted garment.
• Includes instructions for knitting with DPNs and a few pictures of the process. If you need instructions for circular needles, feel free to request!
• Pictures and sizes shown in this pattern are only for reference and results may vary according the materials you choose and your personal gauge.
