Mr. Darcy’s estate in Pride and Prejudice for which this slipper is named is well-known for its lush woods and gardens. Therefore, the garter stitch based lace that is worked simultaneously with the body of the slipper for minimal finishing has a leaf motif. Those familiar with intarsia knitting may wish to work the edging with a contrasting color.
