This classic cardigan features a simple, yet engaging cable pattern on the fronts and cuffs, and relaxing stockinette on the back. Slight waist shaping and set in sleeves complete the tailored silhouette and the versatile seed stitch collar band may be worn up or folded down for a more casual look.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Bust - 32½ (35½, 39½, 42)(46, 48½, 52½)“, based on twice finished back measurement. Fronts overlap approx 2”.
Intended to be worn with 0-2” of ease. Size shown is 39½”, worn with 1” of ease.
Length - 21½ (22, 22½, 23)(23½, 23½, 24)“.

YARN: 1070 (1155, 1275, 1355)(1510, 1580, 1675) yds DK weight wool or wool blend. Recommended yarn: Yankee Dyer Harbor DK (100% superwash merino wool; 250yds/115g).

NEEDLES: U.S. size 5 (3.75mm) straight or circular needles.
U.S size 6 (4mm) straight or circular needles.
U.S. size 7 (4.5mm) straight or circular needles.
U.S. size 6 (4mm) 32” (80cm) circular needle for the collar band.
Adjust needle sizes as needed to obtain correct gauge.

OTHER: Cable needle, tapestry needle, waste yarn, U.S. Size G/6 (4mm) or larger crochet hook.

GAUGE: Stockinette - 22 sts/30 rows = 4”, on size 6 (4mm) needles, blocked.
Seed Stitch - 22 sts = 4” wide, on size 6 (4mm) needles, blocked.
Cable Pattern - 10 sts/30 rows = 1⅝“ wide x 4” high, on size 7 (4.5mm) needles, lightly blocked.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. Techniques include cable cast on, provisional cast on, m1 increases, decreases, cables, and picking up stitches.

CONSTRUCTION: The back, fronts, and set-in sleeves are knit separately from the bottom up and seamed. Cable cast on is used for the fronts and sleeves, and the back has a knitted in hem, using a provisional cast on. Stitches are picked up for the seed stitch collar band.
