Fast and easy beginner pattern ( K & P only) or quick gift item.

Easily worked pattern with plenty of textural interest (looks great using variegated yarn too).

Worked in the round, no seams.

Very versatile and extra stretchy – pull it long or wide for different looks, wear as a hood, snood, cowl or shoulderette / wrap.

158 – 170 yards (150 -155 m) Jumbo yarn (@ 3 or less WPI)
~ Sample used 3 balls Schulana ‘Cortina’ in pink to about 6 ft left over

US 19 (15 mm) Circular Needles 16 – 24” (40 – 50 cm) long

Row Counter
1 Stitch Marker
Darning needle

Rough, relaxed measurements of sample ~ piece has a LOT of stretch.

30” (76 cm) around by 14” (36 cm) tall.
When pulled height wise it will stay at 20” (51 cm),
and can be pulled widthwise (over shoulders) to about 45” (115 cm)

Gauge is not critical to piece but will affect size and yardage.

Sample gauge approx 7.5 sts by 12.5 rs = 4” (10 cm) square in stockinette

About the name:
Penelope \p(e)-nelo-pe, pen(e)-lope\ as a girl’s name is pronounced pen-NELL-a-pee. It is of Greek origin, and the meaning of Penelope is “weaver”. From “pene”. Mythology: Penelope, wife of Odysseus, fended off suitors by weaving during the day and unraveling at night a tapestry she said had to be completed before she would wed another husband.
