These mitts are worked bottom up starting with ribbing to keep them on good and snug. Then, a purl ridge and eyelets are worked to let air pass through so your hands don’t get over heated. The cables are to add decoration while you work, and the fingers are to keep your fingers working and staying warm. I first thought of these for a nice hiking mitt, as I planned to hike up Longs Peak in Colorado. I finished these in time and wore them all the way up and part of the way down. It was cold when we started, but my hands stayed warm.

Yardage varies- The different yardages are for the non-finger version and finger version.
