This pencil skirt is the classic midcalf-length style that was popular in the early 1950s. The sharp verticality of the pleats creates flattering lines. The skirt is fitted throught the waist and the hips, easing gently to full width without too much bulk or volumious knitting by increasing needle size and the number of stitches between repeats.
