This close fitting little top was inspired by thoughts of late Spring, early Summer days. Featured are polka dots and vertical stripes while the Channel Island cast on at the rib and neck edge adds a little extra interest. There is a deep keyhole opening in the back – so no struggling to pull this top over your head and spoiling the makeup! The ribbing is generous in width so that it is not designed to be fully stretched out.
The polka dots are intarsia and are worked in separate lengths of contrast yarn - so no need for bobbins – while the background is carried across the back of the dot. One tip for the bodice is, in order to make the stripes look as good as possible, do try to maintain an even tension. Also, is you are working the stripes carrying one yarn in one hand and the other in the other hand , be sure to always carry the same yarn above the other one on right and wrong side rows, If you alternate, the stripes will be uneven.
