Penny the Penguin is a fun ornament to crochet. She wears festive earmuffs and you can choose to crochet the muffs or use a pom-pom. Make one for yourself and a few more for friends and family!

SKILL LEVEL Intermediate

FINISHED SIZE 10 1/2” in circumference

MATERIALS
Medium weight yarn in white (60yds), black (30yds), and orange (5yds) – (I used
Paintbox Cotton Aran yarn)
Crochet hook F/3.75mm
2 – 12mm plastic eyes
Red felt for earmuff band
2 small green pom-poms
Ribbon cord, about 8 inches
Black embroidery thread, and needle
etc.

HOW IT IS WORKED
The body of the ornament is worked first, with the cord and eyes added before finishing. Then the black coloring and beak are made with basic crochet techniques, and then sewn on afterward. Felt and pom-poms are added for the finishing touches.
