This floral hair elastic is suitable for plaits, pony tails, and other tied hair styles. It may also be worn as a simple wrist corsage, if so desired.

It takes about half an hour to craft. You may use a single solid colour or work each of the 3 petal layers in a different colour. James C Brett is a 50% cotton DK. Any suitable weight yarn may be substituted. Gauge is not particularly important.

You will need a hair elastic tie, and an optional button (to sew to the centre of the flower). If you omit the button, no sewing is required - bar hiding yarn ends, when finished.

Recommended materials: 19 yards (6g) DK, hair elastic, small button, cotton thread.
Recommended needles: 5mm hook, darning needle, sewing needle.

Finished flower is about 2.5 inches diameter.
