Persephone Beret by Gina House

Persephone Beret

November 2009
DK (11 wpi) ?
4 stitches and 5 rows = 1 inch
in stockinette
US 9 - 5.5 mm
110 - 140 yards (101 - 128 m)
medium (20-21") and large (22-23") circumference

An alluring combination of ribbing, easy lace and a lovely swirl top. It can be knit in only a couple of days, but enjoyed for years to come!

(See book for beautiful, altered, antiqued versions of these pictures)

I also tried knitting the beret using the medium sized cast on, but the large sized number of lace repeats and that looked really nice, as well.

(The gorgeous model of this hat is HelloJackie on Ravelry.)
