This pattern was inspired by my mom’s dog Sophie (a golden retriever). My mom had clumps of hair that she was brushing off the dog and I thought that it looked a lot like rovings, so I thought why can’t I treat them like rovings and that is how this pattern came to be.

Now your pet can be a part of your memories of Christmas, beside the ornaments that were made by your children.

I’m not sure if all types of pet hair would work but I think that a lot would.

These ornaments are made by knitting a ball, stuffing it with poly fill, then needle felting the outside with pet hair. Additional decoration can be added using coloured rovings.
