This is an adaptation of Meg Myers “My Meg Knits” perfect pattern for a Felted Flower Bowl.

I give all the credit to her. I cast on 40 stitches and just slightly modified the last ~10 rows or so. Combined with the bowl, these coasters make a super lovely gift.
I don’t go into much detail about felting. You can read up on that elsewhere… Do note a couple of things unique to felting: when first knit, these will be slightly dome shaped, not flat. As the yarn shrinks in length, the dome will flatten out. Also, before AND AFTER felting, these will be pentagonal. While still wet, you will need to pinch and pull and stretch to make the curved petal edge. Not hard at all.
