Pete or Laurey, the Precocious is the child-sized portion of the P.L. Argyle Family, which also includes Peter Lorre, the Mysterious and Petra Laurie, the Faithful.

The pattern includes instructions for 9 sizes to fit children from 6 months-14 years. The stitch pattern has been downsized to be more proportional for children. The downsizing means more diagonal embroidered lines, so it still uses a fair amount of yarn - yet the 3 smallest sizes use less than 1 skein of Cephalopod Yarns Traveller. Colors shown are “Wolcott” (C11) and “Trinket Island” (Y080).

The vest is worked flat in two pieces, then blocked. Diagonals are added, after which the pieces are sewn together. After the sewing is complete, stitches are picked up and neck and armhole ribbing are worked in the round. Sizes shown: 2 yrs (girl) and 10 yrs (boy). A great big thanks to my adorable models, Maverick & Avery!
