These chunky mittens are the January pattern for the Knotty Boys 2013 Calendar, published by Kate Jackson for her yarn shop, Knots.

Pete Jackson specializes in the restoration of odd and obscure automobiles at his shop, Pete’s Custom Coachbuilding. The only herd he wrangles nowadays consists of three daughters under the age of six.

Materials:
130 yards super-chunky weight yarn, about 80 yards MC and 50 yards CC
(shown in Erika Knight Maxi Wool, colors 4(MC) and 20(CC), 100 grams and 87 yards per hank - 1 hank of each color).
Size 9 and 10.5 double-pointed needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 12 sts and 16 rows to 4 inches in stockinette stitch on larger needles
