The idea for this shawl was born when I was exploring the streets of Hamburg, Germany and saw the spire of Hauptkirche St. Petri (St. Peter’s Cathedral).

The shawl is Pi construction, with an option to do a half pi variation. The lace pattern is charted only.

Yarn
Half Petri – 1 skein of Madelinetosh Prairie or Madelinetosh Lace yarn or approx 800 yards of any lace weight yarn

Full Petri – 2 skein of Madelinetosh Prairie or Madelinetosh Lace yarn or approx 1300 yards of any lace weight yarn
(actual yardage will vary with needle size)

Petri also be knit in other weights, but needle size and yardages will need to be adjusted.
 
Needles
Size 6 (or preferred size for your yarn) circulars, at least 24”
 
Notions
6 stitch markers (half pi)
12 stitch markers (pi), including one unique marker for beginning of row
Cable Needle (optional)
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
