The Petrie Pullover is a recreation of a sweater Mary Tyler Moore wears in a number of episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show, with the incredible pointed collar and edging! The original sweater has short sleeves and a pointed bottom edge, and perfectly reflects all the fun fashions of the late 1950s / early 1960s! This garment aims to be a replica of what Mary wore on the show.
This Petrie Pullover uses a nuanced in-the-round construction method that gives the illusion of being a set in sleeve, but is nearly seamless in how it’s created! The majority of the sleeves are worked with the body, with only the top edge and the underarm needing to be seamed in the end. It’s a nifty method that will still utilize your personal measurements to obtain a perfect fit!

This pattern launches alongside the long sleeve, hemmed bottom edge version, and both patterns can be easily mixed and matched with each other!

Like with all Squid School garment patterns, I use a body measurement x gauge system of pattern writing, making every garment pattern 100% size inclusive and tailored to your personal measurements!

This pattern, along with nearly 30 other vintage inspired patterns, is available exclusively at Squid’s School of Vintage Knitting on patreon!
