Petunia was my first experiment with a new idea I had about making the legs of a 4-legged peep all in one with the rest of her. So she is knitted all in one piece, with my “new” Loopy Legs Technique. This may well be an old idea, out there somewhere, but since I can’t find it anywhere, I thought I’d share it.

It’s really a simple idea, and it means there are no legs, tail or ears to make separately and sew on after! YAY! The sides of the legs will need stitched up after the knitting is done, but that’s all the stitching necessary. And the only intermediate skill needed is knitting in the round.

Petunia has been in testing and there are still some notes I want to make for clarification, but this should (we can hope!) be a working pattern.

Thanks very much to Sarloz and DianaTinWA, who were so kind to test her, and help me clarify the pattern!
Here are their Petunia’s -
Sarloz’s Pinky Sarafina
(I named her ‘cause Sara sweetly sent her to me!)
DianaTinWa’s Penelope

The pattern is posted now at http://theknittycat.blogspot.com/p/theknittycats-patterns-tutorials-for.html and is a free pdf.

I have also posted photo tutorials on the Loopy Legs Technique for Knitted Peeps (amigurumi) and for Crocheted Peeps (amigurumi) as well.
