Phlox Fields is an oversized, cozy coat designed for layering, with pockets on both fronts. The wide raglan line is carried down the sides and underarm to hem and cuff and the front edges. The hooded version is finished with a rolled edge, while the collared version has a separating front zipper.

It’s crocheted from the top down with a single ended, cabled hook. The sleeves are worked seamlessly in the round with a double ended hook. The hood or collar is worked bottom up from the neckline, and the rolled edge embraces the natural curl of tunisian knit stitch. Critical points to stop, try it on, and alter where needed are included in the pattern, as well as tips for achieving a custom fit.

This is the piece you’ll reach for on chilly mornings before the sun warms the day, or for crisp fall evenings under the stars. It’s casual, comfortable, and delightfully textured.
