The Phlox Flower Mittens are worked in the round from the cuff up with thumbs worked from live stitches after the mittens are complete. The stranded-colorwork pattern and hardy wool yarn make these mittens extra warm.

Yarn Harrisville Designs Shetland (100% virgin wool; 217 yd 198 m/1¾ oz 50 g): Cobalt (MC), Suede (dark gray; CC1), and Oatmeal (light gray; CC2), 1 skein each.

Needles Sizes 2 (2.75 mm) and 3 (3.25 mm): set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers (m); waste yarn for thumb; tapestry needle.
