This pattern contains instructions for worsted weight (Malabrigos Rios) and sports weight (Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, Shine Sport) yarns.

The pick of the patch, this classic hat is a quick knit for your favorite pumpkin! Using magic loop, a single circular needle, or double-pointed needles this hat is knit seamlessly beginning at the bottom garter ridge and culminates with either an I-cord stem, or a single leaf that is knit from the I-cord.

With lots of negative ease, this hat will grow with your child. Knit in wool for cool weather or cotton for warmer fall days.

Instructions are appropriate for a beginner knitter. One skein of main color and a small amount of contrast color are needed for each hat.

Worsted Weight- Size 7 needles
gauge in stockinette 1” = 4 stitches
Sports Weight - Size 3 needles
gauge in stockinette 1” = 6 stitches

A special thank you to test knitters balldeb and waltraudrichter! Their help and tips were much appreciated.
