Picnic in the Fields is a fun quirky knit, inspired by the beautiful Daisy Chain Yarn from Knit Collage. This superchunky tea cosy will knit up in next to no time and looks good with or without the woolly pompom friend

For the Tea Cosy

Yarn: Super Chunky/Bulky weight Approx 45 metres/49 yards (minus the pompom)

Shown In: Knit Collage Daisy Chain Yarn :Shade Grasshopper: 55 metres/60 yards (A mix of mostly wool, a little mohair and 1% sparkling Angelina fibers)

Needles: 15mm/US 19” or sized neede to obtain gauge plus one extra for the three needle bind off

Notions: Stitch holder or spare needle, tapestry needle

Scrap yarn in a similar colour for sewing up

For the Pompom Sheep

Yarn, felt, tailors chalk, scissors and googly eyes or embroidery thread if required.

If you’re using a pompom maker, you will want the 2.5″/65mm set.

Any superchunky yarn will work, however you should bear in mind that Daisy Chain is a slub yarn, with pieces of lace and strips of material attached to it, causing it to knit to a larger tension than most standard superchunky yarns. Try knitting with a strand of one and a strand of dk if your having difficulty matching the tension up.
