One year ago I finished my first crochet rug using a huge 5 kg cone of cotton which my parents once bought in a thriftstore. Little did they now that years later their daughter would have the crazy idea to make a rug out of it. Unfortunately those cones are hard to find so writing a pattern for the rug was a bit useless. Until I saw a picture on instagram of the Hoooked Eco Barbante yarn , it was love on first sight and after swatching it seemed to be the perfect alternative. Available in the most beautiful colours I really wanted to make a second rug, this time using two, instead of only one colour. And here is the pattern!

It looks like an immense amount of work (and it is!) to most people, but when you work on one row a day, your rug won’t even take a year to finish!

This is a very simple design which is easy to adjust to the size you prefer. Additional information is added in the pattern.

Measurements:

There are two sizes:
o S approx. 26,7 x 38,2 inches (approx. 68 x 97 cm)
o L approx. 58,2 x 70 inches (approx. 148 x 194 cm)
Gauge in single crochet 4x4 inches (10x10 cm) = 14 stitches x 18,5 rows

Materials:

Crochet hook US J/10 and H/8 (6 mm and 5 mm)
Hoooked Eco Barbante 200 g cones
