Picot & Windmill Infant Socks
These full-featured cuff-down, knitted socks incorporate an optional picot edge, 1 x 1 ribbed cuffs, a heel flap, and a Kitchener toe.
If you’ve been hesitant to knit socks before, baby socks are less intimidating and less time consuming.
Three different socks can be knitted from this pattern: two-color picot edged socks, socks with a ribbed cuff, and 4-color windmill socks. Instructions are given for Palette highland wool and Comfy cotton:acrylic fingering weight yarns in sizes for 0-6, 6-12 and 12-24 months.
Photos of basic techniques as well as quality tips are included in the pattern. The techniques and quality tips demonstrated translate to adult socks.
Pattern Sizes & Illustrated Instructions
The pattern has charts for all 3 sizes with metric (mm) and US (inches) dimensions and includes stepwise illustrated photos of techniques used including the kitchener toe and picot cast on.

Whenever I was knitting the pink/cream picot socks on-the-go, friendly strangers stopped to “ooh,” “ahh” and reminisce.
This is one of 2 patterns I use to teach sock knitting. This pattern covers cuff down, traditional socks and the other tube socks. For more info., please visit monicaknits.com .
