Pieces of Eight Mitts
Knitted in one piece these mitts form the an “eight”-shape around the thumb by increasing in the first part of a row, and decreasing in the second part. The pattern includes illustrations concerning construction and topology.
Renate Schattschneider (wwmaid) wrote german versions for this pattern:

I was asked a few times about the yarn I used:
For the green-blue ones I used a very cheap variegated sock yarn bought at a discounter (it doesn’t even have a name, just “sock yarn”, sorry).
For the red-yellow-green ones, I used Schoeller+Stahl Fortissima Mexiko. I guess Noro sock would give similar results.
