This is a somewhat neutral backing for a very elaborate front cover that measures 50cm in diameter. You could use any one of the many mandala patterns available as a front, and then crochet up this cover as backing. I have used A Creative Being’s Picots & Petals Mandala pattern as a base for the front cover and then this pattern as a backing.
If you wanted to make this cushion cover smaller, you could end it after any round. I have indicated in the course of this pattern where to end this backing if wanted to create a back cushion cover for the Picots & Petals mandala.
When making a cushion cover, ideally, you want to make the cover about 3cm/1” smaller than the cushion pad that goes inside. This is so that the cushion pad puffs the cover up and sits firmly in the cover instead of like a floppy limp rag. Adjust the number of rows that you do according to your tension, hook size and yarn (if different from what has been specified).
