Imagine taking a long, slow meander through a pine forest, stopping to admire the fallen pine cones on the way. You breathe in the wonderfully sweet, pine scented air, and feel relaxation washing over you as your soul reconnects with nature. Let this relaxed fit cardigan, with its pine cone motif lace sections bring you that same sense of calm. That feeling of being at one with nature, and at peace with your surroundings.

This cardigan is knitted flat, in 5 individual pieces (back, front left, front right, sleeves x2) which are then seamed to create the finished cardigan. The neckband is knitted at the same time as the cardigan fronts, and then extends beyond the shoulder seam to the middle of the back, where it is invisibly joined using the Kitchener stitch.

The finished sizes of this cardigan are:

(inches) 31.5, 36, 40.5, 45, 49.5, 54, 58.5;
(cm) 80, 91.5, 103, 114, 125.5, 137, 148.5.
This is based on your full bust measurement. The lace pattern is quite stretchy however so if you are up to 2.5 inches or 6.4cm larger than one of the given sizes then you can size down, especially if you prefer to wear your cardigans unbuttoned. Otherwise make the next size up for a looser, more boxy fit cardigan.

The gauge is 18 stitches x 24 rows for 4x4 inches, or 10x10cm, using 4mm needles. Gauge is measured in stocking stitch, after blocking. Each pine cone motif measures 2.25” x 3”, or 5.7cm x 7.6cm, also after blocking.

The suggested yarn for this pattern is Flora Fibres Yarn aran weight Pima Cotton, which is available in 100g skeins of 166m. To substitute for another brand, please take note of the total yardage required for your size, as well as the yardage per skein for your chosen yarn.
