Pineapples and Shells is a beautiful and versatile pattern suitable for an intermediate crocheter or an adventurous beginner. It is designed in eight sizes and will work with whatever yarn you have in your stash. One skein of sock yarn? Choose the smallest size and make a scarf to adorn your jeans or leggings. Two skeins of lace yarn? Choose the biggest size and create a stunning shawl for a special occasion.

Construction: Foundation chain is in the middle of the shawl, pineapple and shell sections are worked in one direction, then yarn is rejoined and shawl worked into to the other direction.

YARN: 450-1750 yds of fingering or lace weight yarn.

HOOK: Fingering weight – 3.00 mm crochet hook, Lace weight – 2.00 mm hook, or hook necessary to achieve gauge.

NOTIONS: Yarn needle.

GAUGE: 2 pineapple repeats = 4.75” wide and 4.5” long in fingering weight; 4” wide and 4” long in lace. 3 shell repeats and 8 rows = 4” in fingering weight; 4 shell repeats and 9 rows = 4” in lace
