My husband and I absolutely love going to Maine, whether for a day trip, a camping trip, or a weekend getaway. Maine is known as the “Pinecone State” and so, I was inspired to make a pinecone shawl. The body of the shawl is very easy and fun to crochet. The directions for the border look long and complicated, but just take it one step at a time and you’ll end up with a beautiful and unique shawl!

This is a top down, triangle shawl, using any weight of yarn, any size hook, any gauge, to make a shawl any size! Designer used Metamorphosis Yarn by A Verb for Keeping Warm (70% superwash merino, 30% silk, 4 ounces / 385 yards), colorway Hyacinth, 1 skein. Less than one skein was actually used, and a size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook.

Stitches used are single, double, and treble crochet. Pattern is rated intermediate.
