Hope - Courage - Strength - Love

The pink ribbon means a lot of things to a lot of people. But first and foremost it’s the undisputable symbol of breast cancer awareness. Every 69 seconds another woman dies from breast cancer. Take a minute, let that sink in. Every 69 seconds.

The name for this shawl was suggested by Kristen during my Boobie Blitz Fundraiser for my Komen 3-Day for the Cure. I think rising from the ashes and rebirth is a perfect sort of symbolism for cancer survivors. $2 from the sale of each pattern goes to the Komen Foundation.

The Pink Phoenix shawlette is worked up in one skein of Malabrigo Sock in the Light of Love colorway. Could it be a more perfect choice? This is a shallow, shaped shawlette that is worked from the top down with a picot edging along the sides and a deep pointed edging along the bottom.
